October 30 - 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time
JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY
“BATHE in the mercy of Jesus.”
Gaze on Us with Love
“What Has This Year of Mercy Meant to
You?”
Responses from Parishioners:
For me, learning that mercy means God
is showing us mercy and giving us
another chance through reconciliation
and prayer.
Mercy is to forgive and show compassion
for all of God's children, just like Mother
Teresa did. It was important that
Mother Teresa was canonized in this
Year of Mercy because she lived out the
works of mercy as well as just being
merciful.
God never tires
of forgiving. His
love for sinners is
unending Mercy.
SUNDAY REFLECTIONS
Determination and persistence are the core
themes of many of the parables and stories that
Jesus told. The story of Zacchaeus is no
exception. He began as an unloved sinner. He
worked for the enemy as a Roman tax collector.
He had become a wealthy man, perhaps by
overtaxing the poor. Because of his physical
stature, he was always on the outside.
The crowds lining the streets to see Jesus
blocked his view. Zacchaeus was too short to see.
But he was determined and persistent. He found
a tree and climbed it. And Jesus saw him, loved
him and changed his life forever. (Deacon Dick
Folger, Celebration)

THE LORD’S LAUGHTER – Don’t be afraid to get
frustrated. Look at me, I take a lot of Maalox.
Somebody said to me not long ago, “I’m surprised
that a woman of such great faith would have to take
Maalox.” I said, “My friend, my stomach doesn’t
know about my great faith.” (Mother Angelica)
