THE ROTARY FOUNDATION AND YOU

The Rotary Foundation was started in 1917 by RI President Arch Klumph at the Rotary International Convention in Atlanta

The first donation was $26.50 made by the RC of Kansas City

There are two investment funds inside the Foundation: the Annual Fund and the Endowment Fund

During Rotary year 2013-14, $259.6 million was donated to the Rotary Foundation by Rotarians just like you

The motto of the Foundation is: “Doing Good in the World”

THE ANNUAL FUND

Money given to the Annual Fund is invested for three years and then returned to your District to be used for projects

The interest earned pays the operating expenses for The Rotary Foundation

50% of the money must be spent on projects outside your home country. The other 50% may be spent on projects inside your home country (District Grants)

In 2013-14, $116.6 million was donated to the Annual Fund

THE ENDOWMENT FUND
