Greetings from your Fullerton Community Center staff!

During these unpredictable times, we want to assure you that the Parks and

Recreation Department is here for you, STILL CONNECTING & SERVING. At this time, the

Fullerton Community Center will remain closed until the state approaches later phases in

the reopening plans. But in the meantime, we are still here and thinking of you!

The Fullerton Community Center is still operating as a resource center, and our

phone lines remain open Monday - Thursday from 8am - 5pm. Our team is here to help

provide information on essential services running in the City and connections to additional

outside resources.

While we are saddened that we are unable to be together in person, our team

wanted to reach out and let you know we are still here. We hope this activity kit will be a

nice way to get a break from your routine at home and keep you entertained. As always,

you can call us at 714-738-6575 to get new updates, information for programs, and

referrals for services. And feel free to call just to say hello! We would love to hear from

you at any time.

Stay healthy and connected at home!

-Your Fullerton Community Center Team

Exercises for older people

Getting started

If you’ve not done much physical activity for a while, you may want to get the all-clear from a GP before starting.

For the exercises that require a chair, chose one that is stable, solid and without wheels. You should be able to sit with feet flat on the floor and knees bent at right angles. Avoid chairs with arms as this will restrict your movement.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing and keep some water handy.

Try to attempt these exercises at least twice a week, this will help to improve muscle strength, balance and co-ordination.

Build up slowly and aim to increase the repetitions of each exercise over time.
