The Food Industry during Covid-19 How much did COVID 19 affect the food industry around the world? The start of the panic resulted
in many food shortages. How many people lost their jobs and how many people were financially unstable and what were some of the reasons.
Global impact
There were a few supply chain disruptions for a few items; many hand sanitizers and hand sanitizer bottles were imported into the US from China. For most food items within the US, resupply happened, but panic buying caused empty racks which contributed to consumers' impulse to stock up and store. Foot traffic to restaurants and cafes declined by 75% in Latin America, whereas North America and Middle East markets saw a decline of 90% by the end of March. Online grocery shopping has grown during the pandemic.
In Melbourne, city officials announced a relief package for Queen Victoria Market. According to Eater, "The whole French food chain may become less individual and more corporate as only big restaurant groups and major industrial food producers might survive.
Petitions have been circulating urging the state government to rescue the industry.
On March 23, 2020, the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel) reported that more than 3 million workers could lose their jobs over the next 40 days.
Workers
As a grocery or food retail worker, potential sources of exposures include close contact for prolonged periods with a customer with COVID-19 and touching ones nose, mouth, or eyes after handling items, cash, or merchandise that customers with COVID-19 have touched.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the pandemic changed a lot of things in the food industry. Restaurants are taking more safety precautions and sanitizing almost everything and all surfaces. This could prevent the spread of Covid among people.

Happy October!
Dear Parents,
Wow! What an interesting month it has been. Thank you for your feedback and suggestions as we work
together to bring quality education for our students. This is a new experience for all of us and we are a team on
this journey together. Our students are doing great thing!
MAP Test:
MAP, or the Measure of Academic Progress, is a computerized adaptive test which helps all stakeholders to
improve learning and make informed decisions to promote a child's academic growth. The students of Grade 4-
9 will take the test in October. Please encourage your child to do his/her best. Kindly don’t assist your child in
answering the test.
Many of you wonder WHY we do MAP Testing.
▪ MAP test helps in measuring student's progress or growth in school.
▪ The MAP results indicates what student’s strengths are and what areas need focus.
▪ Teachers use the MAP Data to help them guide instruction in the classroom.
▪ MAP test is a requirement from SPEA.

School advice tips for students
Advice to the students:
Don’t let things pile up, do a little school work every day.
Make sure you have at least 8 hours sleep, we all need it.
Eat healthy and have exercise
Don’t get stressed over little worries like homework and school they are important
but shouldn’t control your life
How to deal with your exam studies:
Be honest with yourself. You are the only one who knows whether you studied or
not
Arrange a study space where it’s warm, quiet and comfortable
Make a plan and stick to it
Put in your mind that you will always remember what you revised. Do not give up
on yourself
Give yourself some break for like 10-15 min to rest
Don’t compare yourself with your friends and classmates
If you do not understand a point when you are revising, you can always ask your
teacher.
On the day of the exam:
Have a good breakfast (it helps the concentration with your exam)
Don’t start the test with “I’m going to fail” routine. Don’t bring yourself down and everyone
around you. Be POSITIVE always. Take your time while reading your exam paper. Mark
the question you don’t know so you can try to check these answers when you complete
the exam Don’t go over what happened in the past, just concentrate on your exam and
be positive Don’t rush to complete your exam paper. You have plenty of time to complete
it. Write in a good handwriting so the teacher can understand what you have written
And good luck with your exams!
