1.0 PURPOSE

To describe the preventative maintenance program.2.0 SCOPE

Applies to the irradiator operators at the RockawayFacility.

3.0 REFERENCES

4.0 DEFINITIONS

4.1 Preventive Maintenance Checklist a permanent record-

of completed maintenance items.

4.2 Daily Schedule a one day schedule listing of only-

those maintenance items to be performed during each 24-hour day.

4.3 Weekly Schedule a one week schedule listing of only-

those maintenance items to be performed during 7-dayweek.a

4.4 Monthly Schedule - a one month schedule listing of onlythose maintenance items to be performed once eachmonth.

4.5 Semi-annual Schedule - a semi-annual schedule listingof only those maintenance items to be completed duringa six month period.

4.6 Technical Manuals - descriptive manuals that provide areference source for maintenance.

7.0 PROCEDURE

7.1 The Plant Superintendent shall develop maintenanceschedule, using the Preventive Maintenance List.7.2 The Plant Superintendent shall develop procedures for

performing the maintenance activity using the equipmenttechnical manual.

7.3 There shall be a ' semi-annual, quarterly, monthly,weekly, and daily schedules.

The Plant Superintendent shall assign preventive main-tenance tasks to the individual shift operators consis-,

tent with the schedules.7.4 The activities shall be performed and documented by the

on the -appropriate Preventive Maintenance Checklist(see Exhibits).<

NOTE: If a scheduled activity can not be completed onthe assigned shift, the Plant Superintendent me.y

reassign the activity or schedule the activity toextend beyond one shift.

7.5 The Plant Superintendent shall coordinate maintenanceactivities with the Manager of Operations to preventconflict in committments.

7.6 The preventive maintenance program should be audited byQuality Assurance on a scheduled basis, at leastquarterly.
