Welcome to IIIT-Bangalore.

Our PedagogyWe deliver learning through a student centric approach. This means that the student is actively engaged and takes charge of his/ her own learning.

Collaborative Learning:Students learn better through collaboration. We encourage active discussions in the classroom; where the students are encouraged to express contrarian views too. We have group projects too.

Experiential Learning/Contextual Activities:Learning and retention happen best when the students participate actively in the learning process. Be it creativity or critical thinking, students are encouraged to take part in role plays, games and project work, where they develop and hone their skills. The activities selected are contextual and relate to the work environment.

Blended Learning/Language Labs/Self Paced Learning:We use a unique blended approach to deliver high quality and high predictability in learning outcomes. In the LAB session students are encouraged to practice exercises based on the concepts learnt.

Our language lab has exercises for listening and comprehension skills, reading, phonetics, grammar, all these can be done by the student at their own pace. A neutral accent is a key requirement for many customer facing jobs. 's “pronunciation lab” is

The academic council of IIIT-B has reviewed and approved the course curriculum of the “professional Software Testing”

Dr Srinivasan Ramani earned his PhD at IIT Bombay. He has worked at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Bombay, and as a researcher at the Carnegie-Mellon University. He left the TIFR where he was Associate Director, National Centre for Software Development and Computing Techniques (NCSDCT) in 1985, and went on to serve as the founding director of the National Centre for Software Technology (NCST), where he played a key role in creating India's academic network ERNET that brought the

Internet to India. He came to Bangalore as the first director of Hewlett Packard Labs India in 2001. He has served as a member of the Expert Panel of Advisors of the United Nation's Task Force on ICT for Development. He has also served as Chairman of the Computer Society of India and as Chairman of the International Council for Computer Communication. He retired from HP Labs in 2007 and moved on to the International Institute of Information Technology, where he serves as a professor now. He collaborates with HP Labs India in the area of Technology in Education.

Professor Prabhu obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. He has taught at IIT-Kanpur for 30 years, where he served as the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Dean of Faculty. He has also visited University of Toronto as a Research Fellow, and was a Visiting Professor at IIITM-Kerala. His research interests include control of distributed parameter systems, electric drives, robot path planning, power

system dynamics & stabilizers, HVDC & FACTS controllers, and voltage stability. His current interests are in control algorithms for real time industrial control, and in E-education.

Prof. N J Rao obtained his Ph.D. (Control Systems), from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1972. He has earned his M.Tech (Industrial Electronics) from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, 1964-66. He did his BE (Telecommunication Engineering) College of Engineering (Kakinada) Andhra University, 1959-64 His Achievements include Jai Jayant Award for Excellence in Teaching

Our FacultyV.Kannan - has over 28 years experience in the Software Development Industry and has been actively involved in providing direction and leadership to managers and engineering teams that are focused on architecting, designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications and products. He has driven the engineering strategy and execution of plans to deliver products to meet customer needs with a 3 to 5-year vision. He has an extensive background in managing both offshore development projects as well as extended software development labs across the globe. He has worked extensively with US,

Japanese and German customers and partners. His experience spans projects in all Software Life Cycle phases of the product development from the requirement gathering through design, development, QA to the rollout, operation, customer integration and support. He is also very experienced in the use of agile approaches, including Extreme Programming, Test-Driven Development and Scrum.

Sharada Dutta- Sharada Iyer Dutta is an alumnus of University of Arizona, USA, having done her PhD in Physics there. She did her Masters in Physics from IIT Bombay. She has an overall experience of 17 years in the field of Teaching right from Suny, Stony Brook to SIES College at Mumbai. As an academician she has won several awards from both University of Arizon to the University of Bombay. She has more than a dozen publications to her credit in particle Physics. She has conducted many Talks & Seminars, conferences and workshops and has been an invitee Reviewer for

International Journals. She has a Good knowledge of Fortran, Tex, Latex, HTML, Unix, Linux, Windows, Mathematica, Mapel etc. She was a Research Assistant Professor at Suny, Stony Brook and Research Asst. at University of Arizon. Sharada focuses on analytical skills.

Sumith M.K is a graduate with over 10 years of experience in the BPO industry. Sumith has conducted training on customer service and out bond telemarketing. He has trained high school children as well as seasoned professional. He is very popular with students as he connects with them effortlessly. Sumith handles the Life Skills portion of the syllabus.

Nirmala Ganesh is a BSc. (Mathematics) &has a Diploma in Software technology. She is an intense trainer. Having worked with AOL, she started training in AOL. She is a lively person with expertise in English and BPO training. Nirmala Ganesh has excellent communication, leadership and good coaching skills, has done training in Voice and Accent, Toning etc. Nirmala handles the Business Communication part of the course.

Sushma Nagendra has a strong background of 5.5 years in training and development. She has done corporate trainings for Accenture, Verizon, Capegemini, Mphasis, Wipro and FIS in the area of Software Testing. Her repertoire includes Manual Testing, and Automation Testing.

Banani Behera is an MCA graduate with work experience in Software Testing. Her passion for training led her to take it up on a full time basis. Her strong areas are Manual Testing and Automation Tool Testing (QTP). She was a part of Smarter Solutions, Bangalore and also Computer Lab Pvt. Ltd. in Cuttack.

Krithika is a district level Basketball player and a vocal singer with a background in Computer Science engineering. She has earned laurels both in Singing and Sports. Has attended various workshops on Technical and Soft skills conducted by various IT giants.

Sandeep holds a degree in engineering. Has done projects on Embedded Systems. Cricket is his interest as has been a captain for his team in college.

Prathyusha is a Bachelors in Electronics and Computer Engineering. She has done her projects on “Computerized Operator Information System” and “Virus Detector and Resource Controller”. She has been an active participant in various technical workshops . Her interests are “Operating System, DBMS, Computer Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering”. Her leisure interests are Playing Badminton, Throw ball, Listening songs, Watching Cricket.

Kowsalya has a degree in Engineering. She has been awarded the National Level Technical Symposium for CODE DEBUGGING. Her interests are Badminton. Has done technical projects based on Java. Also, has attended various workshops in the technical and soft skills domain.

Sabitha is Chess champion with a background in engineering. Has excellent academic background and has earned prizes. Has done technical projects on Circuit breakers and Simple Distance projection.

Vineet has his Engineering degree in Computer Science. He is a certified JAVA personnel. He has his expertise in languages like C, C++ and Java. He has been a part of technical fests. On the leisure front, he enjoys soccer and has been a winner in it.

Chandan is a Bachelors' in Technology. He has been a gold medalist in inter-school basketball competition. He has done projects to design an "Online campus portal" and a "Download Manager" using Java as an efficient tool. His interest is wild life study.
