Introduction (Airport)
Provides mode of transportation for
many (e.g. travelling, business trip,
etc)
Cheaper and faster comparing to
travelling by land or sea
So why airport?
Why Airport?
The busiest places of all time
Rank Airport LocationTotal International
Passengers
1 Heathrow Airport London, Britain 61,345,518
2Charles de Gaulle
AirportParis, France 55,804,279
3Amsterdam
Airport SchipholAmsterdam 47,349,319
Figure 1: World's Busiest Airports by International Passenger Traffic)
Why Airport?
The Airport Council International (ACI)
found out that 38% of airports worldwide
registered passenger growth, at an
average of 10.2%.
Taking for example Heathrow Airport
60,000,000* (100%+10%)= 66,000,000
An extra 6 million passenger’s in a year!
Assumption basing on scenario
Cost of implementation isn’t an issue to the industry.
Inter connectivity between countries and airlines companies (e.g. Cross checking of identity and passports)
All the technologies in use are all fully functional, utilize and tested. Therefore, lesser downtime and wont affect airport operations
Analysis
o People involved :
Passenger
Security Personnel (Police, Custom)
Airport Management Team (human relations,
operation, communication, logistics, human
resource, traffic control, maintenance )
Cabin Crew (air steward, pilot, flight engineer)
Analysis
o Task / activities:
Check – in (luggage, boarding pass)
Airport Security Check
Passport Check
Boarding Check
Customer Services (enquiry)

Identified Problems
ENDLESS QUEUS! Body Scan/ Check (Humiliating) Flight Cancelation Unheard Announcement (Noise
Polution) Language (Tourist)
Implementing Technology in airport
Face recognition and IRIS recognition in 3D
Implementing Technology in airport
Digital ID Tablets and RFID
Implementing Technology in airport
Hologram
Implementing Technology in airport
T-RAY Scanner
Implementing Technology in airport
Automatic Number Plate Number & Infrared Camera
Issues/ problems after implementing technology
1) Face recognition and IRIS recognition
Expensive
What happens if there is power lost?
(provide UPS in every system)
Issues/ problems after implementing technology
2) Digital ID
What if it’s Stolen?
- ID must sync with user’s other
devices (e.g. watch, phone, spectacles
which has an ID that matches the
users)
Prototype And Simulation
Low definition design › Hand sketch
High definition design› 3D
Auto desk› 2D
Adobe Photoshop Adobe Flash

Conclusion
We tackle all the problems that were present,
by remembering the key rule:
“gracefully integrating these technologies into
the airport so as to become virtually invisible
to the passengers in the airport In order to
anticipate their needs and to provide them
with relevant service or function.”
Thank you!
