    relaxed and refreshed.

A Note from The Director "You must find it in your heart, Never land .. !'

Peter Pan is universal and speaks to the ch ild within all of us.

Sometimes we need to b e reminded to let that child come out and playl

The notion of a boy who would n ever grow up was introduced in J .M. Barrie's book,

Peter Pan, which was published in 1902. The story was based on Barrie's older

broth er, who had died in an ice-skating accident the day b efore turning fourteen,

and thus always remained a boy in his mother's mind.

In 1953, Disney released Peter Pan as its fourteenth fi lm in the Walt Disney Animated

Classics series, and th e world was introduced to Peter, Hook, Wendy, John, Michael,

Tinkerbell , Smee, Tiger Lily, and all the rest.

The original Broadway production opened in 1954 starring Mary Martin as

Peter with Cyril Ri tchard as Captain Hook. Both earned Tony Awards® for their

p erformances. The show has also enj oyed several r evivals onstage. The first was

with Sandy Duncan in 1979, then Cath y Rigby in the 199 0's. Mary Martin was forty

years old when the show opened on Broadway. Cathy Rigby was sixty years old

when she finished h er last tour as Peter Pan in 201 3, both ladies taking the, "I won't

grow up!" message to new heights.

This is the third time that EDMT has don e Peter Pan. Th e first time was in 2006, and

the second was in 2013. Th ere are nine teen current cast m embers who were also

on the 201 3 trip to Neverland. We have one cast m ember who is taking his third

trip to Neverland. H e was Michael in '06, Mr. Sm ee in '13, and is now Hook in 201 8.

    Sometimes they d o grow up I

Our cr eative staff is a truly remarkable group of people ! Thank you to all for your

insight, expertise, and commitment to wh at we do. You are so willing to think

outside th e box, that there is no box. You are exceptional, and I continue to be so

very grateful for all of you.

Thank you all for being h ere. Hope you enjoy your trip to Neverland.
