TEXTURE AND STRUCTURE

Predominantly siltstone with graded beds to fine grained wacke. Bedding thickness averages 2cm, dipping at 60'- 70'. Colour is primarily dark grey to black with minor light grey to pale green arenaceous beds.

Networks of multi -orientated 1mm fractures are increasing towards 780m.

Various sedimentary structures such as cross- bedding, graded bedding, soft sediment deformation structures, slumping, rip-ups, and flames, are evident throughout this unit.

780.0 - 807.0 Fragments are siltstone, wacke and arenite. Good fluidal textures.

Interbedded siltstone, arenite and minor quartzose wacke. Arenaceous beds alternate at 1-2m intervals, ranging in thickness from 15cm to 150cm (avg. 30-40cm). Graded bedding is common with arenite/siltstone equal proportions towards 900m. Occasional pebbles and minor Sudbury Breccia. Arenite dominates base of unit.

Greenish-grey, medium to coarse grained equigranular, massive to weakly foliated rock with sharp, fine grained - chilled margin. 10m wide.

Pegmatitic patches occur occasionally. Variations in grain size may be due to layering.

Scattered (*:1mm) reddish-purple mineral trace only - garnet?

At 1000m the rock is primarily coarse grained gabbro.

Minor randomly orientated quartz veins up to 7cm wide are scattered throughout. The veins are sometimes brecciated.

ANGLE TO CA ALTERATION

Minor epidote alteration.

MINERALIZATION

Commonly IX Cp * Po within matrix of Sudbury Breccia.

Trace to 1X Cp * Po as fracture fillings and within 1mm thick quartz veins.

Trace Cp * Po dissemination.

Occasionally Z-3% Cp+Po+Py within veins.

REMARKS

Good core recovery.
