On April 18-21, 2016 the Ural State University of Economics will host the final events of the International Contest “City: Open the Fu-ture” in the frameworks of the VII Eurasian Youth Economic Forum. The Contest aims to develop analytical, management, research and other creative competences as well as to promote initiatives of young professional in the sphere of urban development forecasting and strategic planning.

Stages and terms of the Contest:1. Qualifying round: papers that met the requirements of

this provision are accepted to participation in the Contest. Papers must be submitted from 1 February to 27 March 2016. Decision on the paper participation in the final (full-time) tour will be made not later than April 5, 2016. Final list of projects will be published on the official Forum website.

2. Final event: the authors of at least 12 best projects will be invited to Yekaterinburg for participation and full-time presenta-tion of the project from 18 to 21 April 2016. Defense session of the works will have two stages:

2.1 The official project defense with the layout or visualiza-tion of it;

2.2 Interactive project defense with elements of forecasting and foresight “Expert centrifuge”.

Students of all training forms, undergraduates, graduates as well as young scientists and professionals up to 25 years of age may take part in the contest.

Travel, accommodation, meals is at the expense of participants.

The REGISTRATION FEE for FULL-TIME PARTICIPATION inthe CONTEST is 500 RUBLES.

Requirements for registration of entries

The file format * .doc or *.rtf, font Times New Roman, size 14, line

spacing 1.5. All fields are 20 mm. The text is the width equalizing

without hyphenation. All diagrams and tables should be inserted in

the text. Paragraph 1 line indentation - 1, 25. Exposure sheet –

portrait. List of literature should be in accordance with GOST 7.1-

2003. Footnotes on the text should be in square brackets indicating

the number sources in the bibliography.

Scope of contest works – up to 20 pages (A4)

The work should be accompanied by the author's and scientific advisor's profiles.

Works that do not meet the above requirements and the

level of the contest as well as sent later the indicated date won't be

considered and sent back.

Contest paper should meet the following re-quirements:

· present the finished research work considering one of the

theoretical or practical problems of the contest topics;

· relate to the matters presenting an interest for project

stakeholders in modern socio-economic situation;

· be based on the study of contemporary specialized litera-

ture, statutory acts, statistics and factual information;

· rely on the data collected and analyzed by the author;

· demonstrate the author's ability to develop the chosen topic,

put forward and formulate the correct conclusions and prac-

tical recommendations;

· show the author's ability to reason logically the opinions on

controversial issues and argue with different points of view

on solving the problems;

· include the author's vision of the future key characteristics

on the urban development (author's forecast of the city de-

velopment);

· avoid incorrect borrowings (all works will undergo “Anti-

pagiarism” compulsory inspection system).
