SUBJECT: UNIVERSITY STATUTES

In continuation to this office Notification No. 1 of 2010 dated.26.04.2010, the Hon'ble Chancellor, in exercise of the powers vested in

him under Sub-section (4)(a) of Section 41 of the Kashmir and Jammu

Universities Act, 1969, has been pleased to accord his assert to the

following Statutes which has been approved by the University Council at

its meeting held on 9th Feburary, 2010 at Raj Bhavan, Jammu.

I. Inclusion of following fee structure for examination inMD/MS Ayurveda from the academic session 2008 onwardsin Appendix-III pertaining to Rates of Examination andother fees/charges for different services of the UniversityCalendar, 2010, (Vol-II) as approved by the UniversityCouncil vide Resolution No. 69.08 dated 09.02.2010.

II. Adoption of Statute for Grant of recognition to all thedegrees obtained by the candidates through DistanceEducation Mode in new Chapter-LXXIII-Z(B) of UniversityCalendar (Vol-II), 2010 as approved by the UniversityCouncil vide Resolution No. 69.40 dated 09.02.2010 toread as under:

Grant of recognition to all the degrees obtained bythe candidates through Distance Education Modeprovided:

1. that the Degree obtained by such candidates isrecognized by the UGC.

.2. that the Degree is granted by a Universityestablished by an Act of Parliament or an Act ofState Legislature.

3. that the said University is a member ofAssociation of Indian University.

4. that the said Degrees are recognized by the DEC(Distance Education Council).

5. that if the said University is not a University ofJammu and Kashmir State, it has been anowedto offer its distance education programmewithin Jammu & Kashmir by the State Govt.and

6. that the said University has entered into amemorandum of Understanding with theUniversity of Jammu.

However, the sixth condition will apply onlyif the said University is utilizing the facilities/personnel of the University of Jammu to run itsdistance Programme(s).

III. Amendment of Regulation 25 of Statute 7 concerning thereconstitution of Faculties in Chapter-II of the UniversityCalendar, 2010, (Vol-I) as approved by the UniversityCouncil vide Resolution No. 69.61 dated 09.02.2010.Appendix-I (Page 1- 5).
