The Degree of Practicing Teacher and Student Roles in Active

ABSTRACT
This study aimed at identifying the degree of practicing teacher and
student roles in active learning in light of some variables from secondary
stage teachers and students point of view in the state of Kuwait.
Cluster Sample was selected, and it consisted of (95) male teachers,
(105) female teachers, and (192) male students, (208) female students.
The researcher built two questionnaires, the first one was about the role
of the teacher in active learning, it consisted of (55) items . The second
questionnaire dealt with the role of the student in active learning, it
consisted of (21) items .The validity of the two tools was insured by
distributing them to a group of jury who were specialists in curriculum
and teaching methods in some Kuwaiti and Jordanian universities. The
researcher also assured the reliability of the tow instruments by using
test-retest method and The Pearson correlation coefficient and they
were (0.83) and (0.84). The researcher also used "Cronbach's alpha"
equation to calculate the reliability coefficient of internal consistency. It
was (0.80) for the role of the teacher in active learning, and (0.85) for
the role of the student in active learning .

and One Way ANOVA were used to analyze the data . The results
showed the following:
- The degree of practicing teacher and student roles in active learning
from the secondary school teachers point of view was medium.
- The degree of practicing teacher and student roles in active learning
from secondary school students point of view was medium.
- There were positive statistically significant relationship between the
practicing degree of the teacher's role in active learning and the
practicing degree of the student role in active learning in the State of
Kuwait point of view.
- There were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05 ≥ α) in
the practicing degree of the teacher's role in active learning due to the
on the sex Variable, in favor of females teachers.
- There were no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05 ≥ α)
in in the practicing degree teacher's role in active learning due to
variables of academic qualification and experience of the teacher.
- There were no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05 ≥ α)
in the practicing of the role of the student in active learning due to the
sex and academic level of the student.
