Either raw data, summary data, or both can be extracted.Various downloading options (data format, type of Internetaccess protocol, supporting documentation, etc.) are supportedby various systems. Extraction systems can be interactive websites, software systems that must be downloaded to the PC andinstalled there, or both. In some cases, interactive graphing andmapping are available as well. Some sites allow downloading offull data sets that underlay the extraction system.
Social Science Data Archives: This page describes a selectionsocial science data archives. Each one carries a variety of socialscience data sets. Archives have various policies with regard tocost of data, availability of data and ancillary information, andrestrictions (if any) on the use of data.
Public Health Data Sources: This page describes a selection ofpublic health data sources, including extractable data and rawdata that must be manipulated with statistical programs.Government and non-government data archives are discussed.
Data Resources in Aqinq: This page is designed to aidresearchers in aging find cross-sectional studies, time series,contextual data, and other data relevant to their research.
