As the school year comes to a close I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and community members for another wonderful year! Once again we have seen many positive changes in the school and that is due to our partnership. The statement, “It takes a village to raise a child”, has definitely been proven.
Please ensure that your children get enough rest and that they are still attending classes. We have exams and field trips galore and I would hate to have someone miss out, so please watch the calendar closely.
Our AR reading has done very well this year. The school as a whole read a total of 2, 591.8 points! With the top 3 grades being; Grade 4 - 1,005.2 Grade 3 - 605 and Grade 2 - 602.4! Awesome job to all! I think I may have to up the challenge next year!
Have a wonderful, safe summer to all! Look forward to seeing everyone in the fall! Roxanne Harasymchuk-Bantick Principal Well it’s hard to believe that another school year has come and gone. I enjoyed helping Mrs. H-B. in all the day-to-day work that we do and ensuring that students are making good choices. It has been a challenging year... I look forward to the new school year and wish every-one a safe and happy summer!
Mrs. Leslie Whitehawk Vice Principal

It is hard to believe how quickly this school year has flown
by! May was a busy month in our class. Students enjoyed
the presentation by Earth Rangers who also brought along
some critters for the students to learn about.
Everyone enjoyed the play of Aladdin, and many who have
seen the new movie have said they liked the play better.
Our bike rodeo was fun! Bria won a bike, Drayven, Keeley,
and Mackenzie each won a soccer or volleyball.
This past Friday, students enjoyed cultural Day activities,
painting, beading, colouring, cooking and eating watermel-
on.
Sports Day was exciting, with all of the students trying their
best and being good sports and participating well.
In May we celebrated Micah's and Tara's birthdays.
We would like to wish Happy Birthday to Iskotew and Alasia
in July and Caitlyn in August!
Have a great summer everyone, and have fun next year in
Grade 3!
Hai Hai,
Ms. Wygiera
Hello parents, with the end of the school year, we
have so many things coming up. On June, 4/19 the
K5 students are going to be planting a tree for their
graduation, it is a symbol for them to have as they
grow up in the school. We are very excited. On
June,6/19 the K5 students are going to be getting
their photos done for their grad as well, so it would
be great if you could dress them appropriately. On
June, 7/19 the whole class will be going to Edmonton
Valley Zoo for our end of the year field trip, which is
very exciting. Finally, our K4's last day is on June,
13/19 and our K5 graduation is on June,14/19. If
there are any questions or concerns please do not
hesitate to contact me at the school. Thanks for your
time.
Ms. Strongman-Swampy
It’s hard to believe that we only have a couple more
days of school left. We have had an amazing year thus
far and still have a lot to look forward too.
The grade 3s have been working on Animal life cycles in
science and this influenced our final field trip to go to
the Discovery Wildlife Park in Innisfail.
Our guides will mention the different life cycles of the
animals that we will see there; the students are very ex-
cited.
For the month of May we have celebrated a birthday for
Phoenix and for the month of June we have 3 more fabu-
lous birthdays happening for Kayle, Jennifer and Jay.
It has been a privilege to be able to teach all the amaz-
ing grade 3s who will be moving onto grade 4. Our EA
Geraldine and I wish them the very best.
Ms. Buffalo
The summer holidays are fast approaching, as there is only
3 weeks left of this school year. I am hoping these days go
by slowly, as I know I will miss teaching my wonderful stu-
dents. Attendance for these last few weeks are very crucial,
so please keep sending your children every day. On Fri-
day, June 7th, we will be going on our year-end field trip to
Amazone Playzone located at 3210 118 Ave NW #173 in Ed-
monton, Alberta. This will be an all-day field trip and the
cost is free. There is however an arcade section for the chil-
dren to play and earn points towards prizes. If you would
like you can send your child with money for the arcade or
for an extra snack, you are certainly welcome to do so. That
morning we will be leaving the school at 9:15 am. All in all, I
would like to thank all the parents of my grade 1 class for
sending your children to Meskanahk Ka-Nipa Wit School.
I’ve enjoyed my first year of teaching and learning from all
these precious little human beings. I hope to see you all
next year. I hope you all have a wonderful and fun-filled
summer!!!
