Combining experimentation with craftsmanship, the embroidery design studio does not hesitate to use industrial process to make meaningful products.

From theoretical enquiry to focusing on simplification, a cross-fertilization from design industry seeks to experiment the perceived value of objects.

“This is the first time we are connecting with Asia and are engrossed with a rapid growth of the region and how this affects design and people’s expectation of it as a whole.”

SINGAPORE IS A CULTURAL PLAYGROUND WITH AN IMPRESSIVE

ARRAY OF ART AND ARCHITECTURE IN SOUTHEAST ASIA.

Singapore boasts an astonishing collection of 'starchitects'.

The ArtScience Museum seemingly floating in Marina Bay is by Moshe

Safdie. There is the unmistakable form of Zaha Hadid’s Biopolis,

a biomedical research center in Buona Vista. The old City Hall and

Supreme Court now houses the recently opened National Gallery,

designed by Francois Milou, with the largest collection of art in

Southeast Asia, while the new Supreme Court is by Norman Foster.

Other regeneration projects include Gillman Barracks, a former

military base transformed into a contemporary art cluster, home to

art galleries, restaurants, the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA),

and coming soon a Design Museum by Supermama. Unsurprisingly

Singapore has taken the lead in the 21st century with a cultural tempest

of innovation and adaptation.

A CULTURAL IMPERATIVE

SINGAPORE EXPERIENCE
