FROM THE DIRECTORS

CO-LOCOWe are excited to be speaking to you with one recreation voice in one fall brochure from one location. We hope that you will experience convenience and satisfaction with this new version of our working relationship. At this point we have achieved co-location, but we recognize we have a lot more to do. We fully appreciate that we still are two separate departments, serving two distinct communities, supported by two different budgets.

We’ve been calling co-location, “co-loco,” because it is all a little crazy! Crazy to make such big changes. Crazy to stick two departments under one roof. Crazy it has taken this long to come up with this concept. Crazy exciting.

We look forward to taking this journey with you — discovering efficiencies and ways to work smarter now that we are not 0.7 miles apart. We hope to see you soon recreating in any of our 14 parks, exploring our miles of trails and open space, participating in various programs, and visiting our office at 75 Maple Street.

Yours truly in recreation,

Ally Vile, Director, Essex Parks & Recreation Brad Luck, Director, Essex Junction Recreation & Parks
