Day 3 – BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA - VIENNA, AUSTRIAThis afternoon, arrive in Bratislava, capital of Slovakia. Enjoy a walking tourof the city’s major sites, including the Old Town Hall, Mirbach Palace andGothic St. Martin’s Cathedral. Spend the evening in Bratislava before theship cruises to magnificent Vienna later tonight.

Day 4 – VIENNAThis morning, enjoy a panoramic tour of Vienna that will include the majesticOpera House, the Ringstrasse and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The afternoonis free to stroll along the Kärtnerstrasse or sample some of Vienna’s famouspastries in the historic city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Join anoptional excursion this afternoon to Schönbrunn Palace and gardens, aglorious example of Baroque architecture. Tonight, you may attend an optionalMozart and Strauss concert.

Day 5 – DÜRNSTEIN, MELKAfter reaching the Wachau Valley early this morning, you will have a walkingtour of Dürnstein, part of a region designated a UNESCO World HeritageSite and one of the prettiest towns along the Danube. Stroll along cobblestonestreets past centuries-old houses and wine taverns, marvel at the magnificentblue tower of the town’s Baroque Stiftskirche (abbey church), and see theruins of the castle where King Richard I of England was once held for ransom.This afternoon, you may enjoy a guided bike tour from Dürnstein to Melk (ifweather permits) or relax on board during a scenic cruise through the beautifulWachau Valley. Your ship arrives late this afternoon in Melk, one of Europe’smost renowned spiritual and cultural heritage sites, where you will tour itsspectacular Benedictine Abbey. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore thecharming town of Melk on your own.

Day 6 – LINZ, PASSAU, GERMANYThis morning the ship arrives in Linz. Remain on the ship for a scenic cruisethrough upper Austria to Passau, a 2,000-year-old city noted for its Gothicand Baroque architecture. You will have a walking tour of Passau’s Old Town,past the old city fortifications and St. Stephan’s Cathedral, home to Europe’slargest pipe organ. As an alternative, you may join an optional excursionfrom Linz to Salzburg, where you will have a walking tour of the historiccenter, the setting for the “Sound of Music” and Mozart’s birthplace. The shipcruises overnight.

Day 7 – REGENSBURGThis afternoon, the ship arrives in Regensburg, one of Germany’s bestpreserved medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will havea guided walking tour of the city’s architectural highlights, including the OldTown Hall and the Porta Praetoria, gates to an ancient Roman fort built in179 A.D.

Day 8 – NUREMBERGEnjoy a scenic morning cruise as the ship crosses the Continental Dividevia the Main-Danube Canal and leisurely cruises through the beautiful AltmühlValley. This afternoon, you have a choice of two tours in Nuremberg.“Medieval Nuremberg” will give you a fascinating overview of this formerunofficial capital of the Holy Roman Empire, an ancient city historians considerthe epicenter of the German Renaissance. You will see the 900-year-oldramparts, towers and city walls of the Imperial Castle that surround the historiccity center, as well as the house where artist Albrecht Dürer once resided.Another sightseeing option is the “World War II” tour that focuses onNuremberg during the time of the Third Reich. Depart the ship after breakfast and drivethrough the pastoral countryside to KarlovyVary, better known by its German name,Carlsbad. You will have free time toexplore this beautiful Bohemian spa townand have lunch on your own beforecontinuing to Prague and checking intoyour hotel.

Day 10 – PRAGUEYour morning’s sightseeing tour revealswhy Prague is considered one of Europe’smost attractive cities, with a historic citycenter that’s recognized as a UNESCOWorld Heritage Site. Visit the 1,000 year-old Prague Castle and St. Vitus beforewalking over the Charles Bridge to the OldMarket Square. The rest of the day is atyour leisure, perhaps to visit WenceslasSquare or enjoy yourself in one of thecity’s many charming cafes.
