How Lake George’s leaders see thingsBy Cathy DeDeChronicle Managing Editor
The Chronicle spoke with Lake George Town Supervisor Dennis Dickinson, Lake George Village Mayor Bob Blais and Bolton Town Supervisor Ron Conover. They all strongly back Gov. An-drew Cuomo’s coronavirus stay-at-home order, while recognizing their communities’ dependence on tourism. “The more we do to nip this thing in the bud now, the better we will be,” Mr. Dickinson said. “The longer it goes on the more restless the natives get. Here’s a quick take on four of the hottest buttons you can push. Andrew Cuomo is in his glory. He’s got a daily nationwide TV show, his coronavirus update. When he appears with his CNN newscaster brother Chris, who is ailing from the deadly disease, I’ve thought the title should be the Cuomo Covid Family Hour. Gov. Cuomo has discipline and empathy, in contrast to President Trump’s daily briefings. But he’s like the president in playing the political game hard,

COVID-19 update Warren and Washington Counties on Tuesday after-noon each reported the sec-ond COVID-19 death of a resident, both unidentified. Warren County’s case-load, was up to 69 on Tues-day, after having surged on Sunday...“with 21 new positive cases reported since Saturday morning.” Warren County Public Health Service said the higher count “stems from an increase in test-ing that has occurred in War-ren County in recent days as well as a ‘cluster’ of patients confirmed with COVID-19 at The Pines at Glens Falls Center
Steve Tefft: Peepers’ welcome message: Life will indeed go on...Hi Mark - I know you enjoy writing about the “peepers” — the frogs that appear in the Spring. I first started hearing them a few weeks ago in a little pond in Wil-ton. The sound was deafening. I stopped on the side of the road just to listen to the beautiful chorus. What a sound of hope! It’s hard right now, but the peepers teach us a lesson. The world goes on. The light may be dim, but it’s just over the horizon getting brighter each
day with the awakening of the wonders of Springtime. Mother Nature, sing your mi-raculous song. We need to hear it now more than ever. Better days are coming.
— Steve Tefft, Wilton P. S. I am so glad you are still able to publish during these
unprecedented times. The North Country needs you to carry on. It’s a joy you bring to so many.
Chronicle ‘really helps me keep my sanity’; enjoys Max’s writing Dear Mark, Your publishing really helps me keep my sanity in this trying time & I hope you can continue. As for that nasty woman’s letter from Argyle this week, I hope she stays there. By the way, I really enjoy Max’s columns. He doesn’t seem biased politically, which is rare these days. Thank you again. — Dorothy Sehlmeyer

“We have been unusually busy. Everyone is buying food like crazy. We are glad we are considered essen-tial,” Jennifer Thomas of Thomas Poultry Farm in Schuylerville tells The Chronicle. The family farm, in business since 1948, has nearly 200,000 chickens that lay 15,000 dozen
eggs a day, said Mrs. Thomas. She said that when Governor Cuomo announced the stay-at-home order, “people could not
get enough product....I think some people must have 15 dozen eggs in their refrigerators.” She laughed, “Who is eating all these eggs?” Before Easter, she’d been concerned. “Our reserve is gone. Our cup-
