The Need for Healthy Homes

In Bridgeport, 88% of homes were built before 1980, when lead paint was legal and 46% of homes were built before 1950, when lead paint was prevalent.

4% of children in Bridgeport under age 6 have been found to have elevated lead levels. This is more than three times the state average.
