construction sites and factory floors. It is aimed at tracking worker and material progress on
site and relaying the data to a central repository that can be viewed from any online computer
terminal. Typical hardware required is an NFC enabled
Bluetooth printer on site.
BC08 Rugged Phone BC350 Bluetooth Printer
Workers are registered via the phone and issued NFC cards to identify them as workers. The
Bluetooth printer is used to print out payment information on designated payment days.
The core functions of the BuildCAPTURE system are:
Time and Attendance Monitoring
The Time and Attendance feature is used to clock in and clock out workers as they come in and
come out of the work site.
A clock in features having a worker using their NFC card to identify themselves, a picture is
taken of the worker and they are considered clocked in. Clock out involves the exact same
process and each time geo-location information is recorded.

Random Call
During work hours, for every worker clocked in the system
will automatically pick a worker to be clocked in at random.
This is to ensure every worker is on site once they clock in
and to make sure they are accountable when they are not
on site at the time of a random call.
Geo-location
BuildCAPTURE caters for unlimited clock-ins and clock-outs
per day with GPS and cell-tower supported Geo-Location.
The Geo-Location information shows the location of a
worker during a clock-in or clock-out. Maps are available on
the web-based application where worker locations are
showed via markers.
Worker Categories
Via the web application, different worker categories can be specified and the daily wage
indicated. As workers are registered their category is attached. This enables wages to be
calculated and workers to be managed according to their categories.
Payment
Information captured is used to generate worker payment information and hours worked. A
payment receipt is generated in turn.
Sub-Contractor Time and Attendance Monitoring
This is used to monitor sub-contractors brought in to undertake specialist tasks at a work site.
Their attendance and work progress is monitored.
Contractors are registered via the web interface and the phone will take their photo and assign
them an NFC card as required.
Their clock-in and clock-out data is taken similar to the worker clock-in and clock-out module.
An addition is that they specify their progress via a form available on the phone. They enter
their periodic progress in an agreed pre-defined format e.g. per acre, per square meter, per
floor etc.

The achievements of the HR System within BuildCAPTURE
The HR system will be a multi-site system that will enable the CONTRACTOR to know:
1. When people are in and out of site
2. Measure the Time spent in their respective work within the Sites
3. Allow Overtime, Time-off, Sick, Equipment Allocation, Staff Movement, Staff Review and Other
related information to be taken by the System
4. Measure the productivity of every Worker
5. Give all reports as requested by the HR Process Document attached
6. Export data to be congruent with Payroll System (Remuneration & Benefit)
N.B.: We will give all the information required as according to the Contractor HR and give also additional
information related to the security within the site (when a person is in or out of the site).
In order to achieve this we will use the following technologies:
NFC, Android, Web, IIS, XML, JSON, Cloud Server, MySQL/SQL SERVER, GPRS/3G, WIFI, Windows
Microsoft Server, MVVM, CS Middleware, CS BuildCAPTURE WEB and Android.
Site Progress Tracking
This module is used to take photographic evidence of physical progress on
site e.g. for a building, the foundation, walling, roofing etc. and relay it to
the web application for viewing. A photo is taken and a description
attached. The information is relayed to the web and the site where the
picture is taken is identified automatically.
Project Material Tracking
Project tracking on BuildCAPTURE is provided via a stocks module. A list
of materials that will be delivered and used on a particular site can be
uploaded. The list is available on a customizable excel document
template. The list can specify, materials, quantity, re-order level and site that the materials will
be delivered to.
Receiving Materials
Once the list is uploaded, the phone(s) in a particular site for which the delivery should be
undertaken automatically fetches and lists them. Once they are delivered to site the store

manager on site will receive them and specify the quantities received and a receipt to match
the delivery is printed via the Bluetooth printer. Any number of copies of the delivery can be
printed.
Material Dispatch and Return
After receiving material they are listed as usable. The store manager
can release materials as they are used specifying the quantities. This
information is relayed to the web-application and can be monitored
real-time at a central location or terminal. Returns are also processed
in the same way. Any material returned after being released is keyed
in and this is in turn relayed.
As materials are consumed, the quantities are recorded and if any
material item goes below the re-order level. An email alert is sent
listing the items that are low and the amount left and on what
particular site.
Capturing Visits
The app allows also capturing Visitors who come into a Site and that
go out of the site. This is important for security reasons. An NFC Card
can also be given to them in case the Visitor is recurrent. A Visitor is
someone who is not an employee or contracted person and comes
not regularly.
Reporting
BuildCAPTURE web platform has a majority of reports available to management. The reports
aim to provide summary of site details and progress.
The reports include:
1. The predicted wage bill based on clock in data before payment is made.
2. The payment breakdown per worker, per site.
5 | P a g e
3. Flagged worker reports used to flag workers based on particular criteria e.g. those that
have worked less than 8 hours.
4. Worker categories and how much each category pays per site or project
5. The material consumed on site, and materials delivered on a particular day.
6. Contractor attendance and progress reports.
User Access Credentials
Different modules on the phone are accessible based on designations and roles on site. The
supervisor has access only to the worker based functions and a store manager has material and
stock based functions accessible. This ensures that accountability of all actions undertaken on
the phone. Many users can also be assigned the same role.
The Android App
The Android app has a unique interface that is easy to use. It can be set in Kiosk mode so that
the user does not use any other application on the Rugged Device.
Different Clerks can have different rights: one can be set to handle only Workers and Sub
Contractors, others to handle only Materials. All these settings can be set on the web interface.

phone most of the operations can be done. Once the network is back the application will
communicate all the information to the Server, and also vice versa.
The Web App
The Web application is stored in a Windows Machine and works with IIS. It uses Mysql or SQL
Server as a backend Database. The Android App communicates via JSON from and to the Web
Application.
The Web allows administering as many projects as necessary and in as many different loc
as needed. It uses google maps to show the coordinates taken by the Smart Phones.

The Hardware
Although all Android devices can be used that are 2.3.6 and
above with NFC, we recommend the rugged phone BC08 as it
is very resistant to water (can go under water for 30 minutes)
and can withstand shocks as it is IP68 compliant.
It is Android 4.2, dual Core, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS, 3G, dual
Sim, GPS and NFC enabled, 512 MB Ram, 4 GB Storage.
The Bluetooth Printer BC350 is able to print on Thermal
Paper in order to give reports to clerks and also to give
receipts for materials that are incoming or outgoing. If
workers are paid on site it can also print a receipt for the
workers and gives the output of days and days worked.
The battery last for at least 2 days with continuous use.
No need to change cartridge since it is Thermal printing.
The NFC Card allows to store 450 Characters in an encrypted
way. The NFC Card can be read or even have the capability to
write on it. It can transmit data from one SmartPhone to
another in case there is no internet connection.
The NFC Card is made of PVC and can be customized with
Logo of the company at an extra cost.
