American teen drama based on the book of the same name by Cecily von Ziegasar.

Created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. Premiered on The CW network on September 19, 2007. Aimed at young adults (around 16-17+) who stay up

late as it starts at 9pm, and wouldn’t be suitable for children.

Narrative

It’s Blair’s 17TH Birthday and she is left alone by Nate, her

boyfriend, who isn’t seen in this clip (except for in the photo), and

Chuck (who is Nate’s best friend) hangs around her because he

likes her. Chuck continues to aggravate Blair and when Blair is

about to blow out her birthday candles, she is told by Serena to

make a wish. She later receives a picture message from ‘Gossip

Girl’ of a picture of Nate with another girl. Unbeknown to Blair,

everyone at the party has also received this picture, upsetting Blair

more. Chuck finds Blair upset and surprises her with a necklace

and make out on the bed not knowing that Serena has seen them.
