Новогóдние персонáжи – New Year Characters

Дед Морóз – это глáвный новогóдний волшéбник. Он живёт в гóроде Великий Устюг. Дед Морóз нóсит крáсную или синюю шýбу, шáпку и пóсох. Он принóсит дéтям подáрки и оставляет их под новогóдней ёлкой.

Grandpa Frost is the main New Year wizard. He lives in the city of Veliky Ustyug. Grandpa Frost wears a red or blue fur-coat, a hat and a staff. He brings presents to the children and leaves them under the Christmas tree.

Снегýрочка – это внýчка Дéда Морóза. Онá помогáет емý доставлять подáрки. Снегýрочка одéта в бéлую или синюю шýбку и красивые сапóжки.

Snegurochka is a Grandpa Frost’s granddaughter. She helps him to deliver presents. Snegurochka wears a white or blue fur-coat and beautiful boots.

Снеговик – это помóщник Дéда Морóза. Чáсто Снеговик рабóтает курьéром и доставляет дéтские письма волшéбнику.

Snowman is a helper of Grandpa Frost. Often the Snowman works as a messenger boy and delivers children’s letters to the wizard.

Зáйцы и бéлки – это лесные жители, котóрые чáсто помогáют Дéду Морóзу доставлять подáрки и подскáзывают дорóгу, éсли он заблудился.

Hares and squirrels are the forest inhabitants who often help Grand-pa Frost to deliver presents, or show him the way if he is lost.

Ёлка (Новогóдняя ёлочка) – глáвная героиня прáздника. Чáсто ёлочка не сияет до тех пор, покá Дед Морóз не скáжет волшéбные словá “Раз! Два! Три! Ёлочка, гори!” Под ёлкой ýтром дéти нахóдят подáрки.

Christmas tree is the main heroine of the celebration. Often she doesn’t shine until Granda Frost says the magic words “One, two, three, Shine the tree!” Under the tree, children find their presents in the morning.
