These are piece that I believe EVERY woman should have in her casual but oh so chic wardrobe.

Unlike other "Must Have" lists though, these are pieces that will still be unique to you and geared to your personal taste.

No trench coats, little black dresses, or white button down shirts here - just very versatile pieces that can be worn in multiple ways, dressed up and dressed down, and work for every shape & size.

In fact, you may have some of the McLatchie Must Haves in your wardrobe already!

Layering Piece

I love layers not only because they are functional (keeping you warm in cooler seasons and chilly situations like freezing air conditioning in the Summer months), but because they also add visual interest to an outfit

and makes it that much more stylish.

Whether it’s a lightweight cardigan, a cool vest, or a kimono jacket - layers just add that extra bit of personal style to your look.

Now of course, you don’t always have to wear one (and when it’s super hot out, you may want to skip them altogether), but having at least one

layering piece in your wardrobe to pair with more neutral or simple looks is a great tool to have when you want to elevate your look.

Style Tip: If you tend to wear mostly neutrals and solids, get a layering piece in a fun colour or print. And if you wear lots of prints and fun colours, choose a layering piece in a solid, more neutral colour.

Strapless Bra

They make them in every size now, so there is really is no excuse for not having one.

Yes, you will have to try on quite a few to find the perfect and most comfortable fit, but the time spent doing this will be worth it in the end.

Pinky swear.

A great fitting strapless bra has a great return on investment because it will totally expand your clothing options - especially during warmer

seasons! When you have a strapless bra, you are no longer limited to only wearing tops that cover your bra straps or having to wear layering

cami’s underneath your thin strapped Summer tops and dresses.

And they're not just useful when wearing warm weather styles! They're great for off the shoulder sweaters, cold shoulder blouses, and holiday

party dresses.

Style Tip: Always make sure to get properly fitted for your strapless bra and to buy the best quality one you can afford.

Print or Pattern Top

A printed top instantly adds some fun and personality to your look and is a great add on to your basic bottoms like skinny blue jeans or other solid

coloured bottoms.

No matter your personal style…there is a print for everyone!

More classic and conservative with your style? Go for stripes or gingham.

A little more girly? Try polka dots or florals.

Like to be a bit more creative? Think geometrics or animal print.

Style Tip: In case you're curious, a pattern is a design that is woven into the fabric, whereas a print is a design that is printed on the fabric.

Jumpsuit/Romper

Before you start running for the hills screaming, "A romper/jumpsuit just won't work for me!"...hear me out on this one.

When I am in a rush and want to look pulled together in a flash - in other words, I don’t have time or can’t be bothered to think about what to wear with what - a romper or jumpsuit is my warm weather "go to" piece. All

you have to do is add an accessory and some cool shoes, and watch the compliments start flying your way!

Like a strapless bra, it’s a matter of trying on a variety of styles to see which ones suit you best, but there are styles to suit EVERY size, shape,

and age.

Style Tip: Rompers & jumpsuits aren't super quick to get out of, so make sure you don't wait until the last minute to use the washroom - if you

know what I mean. :-)

Neutral Shoes

A pair of neutral shoes (a nude or metallic) is a definite must have in every woman’s shoe collection.

It’s such a versatile shoe because it not only goes with everything, but it can help "ground" a busier/fussier look (like when you're wearing multiple

colours or prints/patterns).

A metallic shoe in particular is a great choice for adding a little bit of extra "oomph" to an otherwise neutral/simple outfit.

Whether you choose your neutral shoe in a heel, wedge, flat, or sandal… you can’t go wrong when pairing this with your outfits.

Style Tip: If you like shoes with straps across the ankles but always worry about it cutting off the leg line, no need to worry about that with a

neutral shoe!

I'm willing to bet you have some of those items in your closet already, and if you don't, I hope you'll get them as soon as possible so you can start

having more fun with your wardrobe and making the most of it!
