Notes from River’s Edge Artistic DirectorPeace, Love, Unity, Justice. May I offer that these are not simply nouns, but they should be action verbs? I, and the members of River’s Edge, desire a world in which these words are not simply idle words, but ways of life. Our hope is that in this holiday season, people of all faiths, all races, and all genders embrace the STAR that lives in them.
Holiday music probably has a special place in all of our hearts, no matter what tradition we come from. Whether we’re celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa or simply celebrating the New Year and the change of season, there’s something about this time of year that brings us together and makes us appreciate each other and the bonds between us.
Of course, any group that has emerged from River City Mixed Chorus will also bring with it a sense of humor. Be prepared for all traditions to simultaneously be celebrated and caricatured! We hope that you will find occasions this evening to laugh, as well as to have your spirits lifted. Thanks again for joining us! We wish you all the best in this season and in the coming New Year!

He has sung all over the globe and had the privilege of singing at Carnegie Hall at the age of 23. Moore serves as Vicar and Office Administrator at First Lutheran Church of Omaha. In the Spring 2011 he will continue his education with the Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. He is the proud father of four children, Fernando, Sergio, Kas-sondra, and Emilia. He is also an active parental figure in the life of his nephew, E.J.
Jerry MeisStage Manager
Jerry relocated to Omaha where his family resides, after hurricane Katrina devas-tated New Orleans and displaced thousands of people. River City Mixed Chorus of-fered a venue for utilizing his talents for singing, creating costumes, and organizing performance arts productions. He experiences a loving, community family at RCMC and has sung with the Chorus for 4 years, and River’s Edge for 2 years. Jerry is a “go to and go for” guy who works tirelessly to refine the details of productions for excellence.

Salli ComptonAccompanist
As the accompanist for River City Mixed Chorus, Salli enjoys the weekly privilege of playing for the most talented chorus in town di-rected by the most accomplished conductor. Playing for singers has always been her musical passion. Her mother taught Salli to accompany by singing beloved Broadway tunes from the kitchen with a variety of tempos and dynamics. Salli’s gifts from the universe have included many different church choirs, numerous Community Theater folk, elementary school children, vocal students of all ages,
and her extended RCMC family. When she is not playing the piano, she is thinking and breathing the art of teaching children. Joyce, Whit, Luke, Mack, Laci, Henry and Maggie learn every show right along with her while keeping her in the now. She be-lieves that music is the expression of the essence of life.
Tracy LoucksSign Language Interpreter
Tracy Loucks hails from Nebraska and obtained a BFA degree in Theatre Arts from the University of New Mexico in 1985. This degree
led her to many years of working in theatre, op-era, commercials and movies. In 2004, she earned an AAS degree in Sign Language from Iowa Western Commu-nity College. She has served as an Educa-tional Interpreter for the last seven years. Work-ing with River City Mixed Chorus has given her an opportunity to not only use her musical back-ground and signing skills but also to be a part of a group dedicated to a cause that affects Oma-ha in a positive way. This is Tracy’s sixth concert with RCMC.

Fifth Voice – These “Friends” are non-singing volunteers, who work the “magic behind the music”. These de-voted individuals accomplish many tasks associated with concert prepa-ration and fund-raising events. They don’t get the opportunity to stand on stage and look into your faces. They feel the glow of sweet applause only from the sidelines. So when you’re clapping for us, throw in an extra round for our Friends. If you are inter-ested in supporting the Chorus in this way, please contact Ric Chamberlain at the Sing Line (341-SING (7464).
