1 Read instructions thoroughly before commencing installation of unit.
2 Excavate foundations as shown in the foundation plan.
3 Position the Bearing Unit/BGF Spindle assembly in the prepared hole, ensuring that it is central,vertical and at the correct height.
4 Backfill foundations with approx 0.13m³ concrete (4 parts gravel/2 parts sand/1 part cement)ensuring that the height from the finished surface to the top of the concrete is maintained asshown in the foundation plan. Taper foundations at the Installation Hoop slots (Hoop is fittedin instruction 6) to allow for water shedding.
5 Allow concrete to set for 48 hours.
6 Once the concrete has set, fix the installation hoop centrally over the spindle to the concrete using
rawl bolts (see sheet 2). Backfill void to suit surfacing being laid after hoop has been installed.
7 Assemble the Frame and Cup assembly to the Bearing Unit/BGF Spindle assembly ensuringthat all fasteners are fully tightened.

Fixing Details for Maintenance
Assembly Instructions
1. Fit outer bearing rings into bearing housing ensuring correct orientation.
2. Fit nilos ring to shoulder of lower bearing face on spindle.
3. Fit lower bearing race onto spindle ensuring correct orientation.
4. Smear lower bearing with grease, do not overload bearing with grease.
5. Fit housing over spindle so lower halves of bottom bearing fully engage.
6. Smear upper bearing with grease, do not overload bearing with grease.
7. Fit upper bearing onto spindle, tap into position to fully engage.
8. Fit spacer over spindle.
9. Tighten castle nut down on spindle thread.
10. Back castle nut off by one castle space of the nut.
11. Fit cotter pin ensuring bearing housing runs freely.
12 Ensure there is no excess play ie no rocking of bearing housing on thebearing assembly.
