I. Cain’s Altar ( Genesis 4:2-3, 7,8)

II. Abel’s Altar (Genesis 4:2,4)

A tiller of the ground. His offering of the fruit. He didn’t receive the

blessing and respect from the Lord.

Sin lies at the door. His results: jealousy,

arguement(talk with), anger and murder.

A keeper of sheep. His offering of flock

and fat. He received the

blessing and respect from the Lord.

His results: steady faith and obedience.

III. Two reasons of blessing Abel as his excellent offering,

The first sacrifice was made by God; it consisted of animals slain to cover man’s sin.

Only Abel’s offering was a true sacrifice made in faith because Abel recognized his unworthiness and the divine promise of a true and perfect redeemer( Gen. 3:15; Heb.9:8-9;10:8-9; 16-17)

IV. Two reasons of cursing Cain as his vain offering,

He possessed his own will. He inherited evil from the tree of the

knowledge of good and evil.

V. Jesus’ unselfish and spiritual sacrifice for us,

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:14

Are you ready to give your own life up to God? Come toward the altar to ask God to forgive your sins. That is God’s will.
