study on Entrepreneurial Opportunities in

Tourism & Hospitality Industry of India

Abstract:

Purpose:

The prime concern of this paper is that to focus on the various start-ups programs and the initiative which

has taken by the Indian Government and the impact of social media network in promoting the

entrepreneurship among the Hospitality and Tourism sector individual. With the help of the Startup India

Programme initiated by the Govt. of India to boost the entrepreneurship in both hospitality and tourism sector

with in the country. Due to this there are several venture capitalist is looking forward in country’s startup

sector for the further investment and also leading towards to make partnership with them. India has a multiple

portfolio of niche tourism products like – adventure, medical, cruises, sports, wellness, MICE, eco-tourism,

religious & rural tourism. Specially startups which are initiated by the young millennials after the launched

of startup programme of Government of India, the contribution in that from hospitality and tourism sector

has been quite negligible amount.

Design/Methodology/Approach:

This research is an exploratory type. The data will be analyzed using qualitative mode. The data would be

collected from various sources i.e., Primary source from the senior level executives of the hotel & tourism

industry (such as marketing managers, General Managers, Entrepreneurs etc.) & Secondary sources (like

reputed online journals, e-magazines, reports, blogs, websites, various hospitality magazines, text books

etc.).

Findings:

The trial study reveals that reinforced as there are lot of opportunities for the young millennials in the

hospitality and tourism sector as budding entrepreneur. As there are lot of finance available in this sector and

other Govt. schemes are also beneficial for the establishment of the entrepreneurial setups.

Implications:

The Startup programmes and Government initiatives would further leads to more researches in the field of

hospitality and will definitely act as a vital source of information for academia and will further support the

young entrepreneurs to establish their venture by utilizing the various Govt. initiatives.

1. INTRODUCTION

In our country from previous couple of years everyone seems to be talking regarding the start-ups. Even

several events has been organized concerning the similar. Primarily Start-up may be a refined associated

1.1 ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND STARTUP PROGRAMMES

Govt. reports, books, research papers etc. The study is based on following objectives:

1. To study the influence of government cooperation in opening a new start ups.

2. To understand the start-ups and their significance in Hospitality.

3. To ascertain the various business incubation centers for the startups in India.

1.3 SCOPE OF THE STUDY:

The scope and opportunities of entrepreneurship and the startups program me are massive in our current

climate of hospitality & tourism industry. The Government of India has funded and focusing a lot on the

entrepreneurship programme in the various sector including the prime role in the Tourism and Hospitality

Industry. The young and budding entrepreneur are having a very vital opportunities to do or open a new

startup venture as there is more funding should be provided by the investors in this sector with the help of

business incubation centers.

2. LITERATURE REVIEW

Government of India

(2) Startups established with the support of business incubation programmes of personal firms and

establishments. Startup India may be a Government of India flagship programme to market startups ii and

encourage innovation. This programmes provides proactive support and incentives at multiple levels.

topic was also a problem faced as the number of studies which is focusing on the topic is not easily available.

4. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:

In today’s world the startup system in India area unit growing within the grapevine manner. The Indian start-

ups plan to build the startup atmosphere with vital education, talent, innovation and incubators with

correspondence to funding agencies throughout the country. Currently the Government of India is

additionally supporting the Start-ups. Travel and Tourism as well as the Hospitality sector has not gained a

lot of within the launch of undefeated startups although many technology business incubators are instrument

in fine standardization the innovative business ideas and business plans and additionally providing access to

finance in numerous sectors. The deficiency of business incubation system in travel and tourism sector is one

among the main limitations impeding the launch of startups. The worldwide finance history of travel tech

firms throughout 2012-19 shows a uniform increase within the funding of travel tech firms. This means the

scope of putting in of a brand new sizable amount of startups in travel- Tourism enterprise and Hospitality

sector.

Startup India programme of Government of India and varied state government initiatives to market startup
