Media Students World TM 2016 is the BENCHMARK of a comprehensive study in media, film and TV equipment ownership and use by students.
All respondents are required to be enrolled in a school or program focused on learning film, TV or media production and post-production.
It is thereby the most comprehensive syndicated market research survey ever conducted regarding that capture, workflow and the attendant products in the world.
The global student market of pre-professional end-users will be surveyed, census style, in this global “bottom-up” effort.
Now covering 14 categories of products.

While professionals get routinely covered in our studies and competitive ones, nobody has focused on the burgeoning college level international media film and TV and media student population.
This boom in students began several decades ago with the use of increasing electronic elements in post-production, and now electronics have all but displaced the use of film and made the purchase of appropriate video equipment essential to studies.
From D-SLRs and lenses to lighting kits and one-piece switcher/graphic systems and creative software an important segment has been traditionally overlooked.
Whether owned or rented, equipment used by students represents a huge market and a training ground for our other studies.

D.I.S. has consulted with all its front end
sponsors, as well as non-sponsoring companies,
in an effort to be comprehensive regarding
brands, types and other factors in the questionnaire.
D.I.S. employs a hybrid methodology including:
1) Initial screening interviews with professional respondents.
2) Invitations for potential respondents to visit an on-line site to
complete the questionnaire.
3) The questionnaire is designed to inventory installed brands, models and stations by product category.
4) Data entry and computer tabulation is then done using a network of personal computers running the proprietary tabulation program.
5) All gathered data is combined into tables, charts are created, analysis derived
and forecasts made.
6)The data is then weighted and projected to the number of sites and individuals
that populate the professional cinematography markets, globally, thereby
illustrating the Total Addressable Market (TAM).
