QUILT CENTER:1. H BORDER - Sew (1) H 1-1/2” x 30-1/2” strip to each side of (1) D 22-1/2” x 30-1/2” rectangle. Then sew (1) H 1-1/2” x 24-1/2” strip to the top and bottom of the DH Unit to create the Quilt Center.

2. AE BORDER - Sew (1) A 4-1/2” x 32-1/2” strip to each side of Quilt Center. Then sew (1) E 4-1/2” square to each end of A 4-1/2” x 24 -1/2” strip to create EAE strip. Make 2. Sew (1) EAE strip to the top and bottom of the Quilt Center.

3. G BORDER - Sew (1) G 2-1/2” x 40-1/2” strip to each side of Quilt Center. Then sew (1) G 2-1/2” x 36-1/2” strip to the top and bottom of the DH Unit to create the Quilt Center.

FINISHED SIZE: 58” x 66”

FINISHING Cut batting and backing 3” larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top together and baste or pin. When quilting is completed, trim excess batting and backing. Bind as usual.

BUTTERFLY BLOCKS:4. BLOCK A - B - Take (1) B 7” square and find the center of left side. Draw line from center of left side to opposite corner. (Diagram 1)

5. Place (1) B 7” square and (1) F 7” square right sides together and sew on line. (Diagram 2). Trim 1/4” away from sewn line, (Diagram 3). Then press open with seam allowance towards the B fabric. (Diagram 4).

6. Trim square to 6-1/2” (Diagram 5). Repeat to make (4) BUTTERFLY BLOCK A (Diagram 6). Repeat steps to find center of B square on right side to create (4) BUTTERFLY BLOCK B. (Diagram 7)

BORDER ASSEMBLY MEASURE WIDTH AND LENGTH OF THE QUILT TOP TO ENSURE BORDER SIZES, BELOW ARE OUR CUTTING SIZES.

FUSSY CUT BORDERS: (refer to diagram for proper rotation of blocks and border strips)7. Sew (1) Butterfly Block A to one end of (1) C 6-1/2” x 32-1/2” fussy cut strip and then sew (1) Butterfly Block B to remaining and of C fussy cut strip. (Make 2) Sew (1) ABC border strip to each side of quilt.

8. Repeat step 7 using Butterfly Block A , Butterfly Block B and C 6-1/2” x 24-1/2” fussy cut strip to create top and bottom border. Add (1) E 6-1/2” square to each end of (1) ABC Border strip. (Make 2). Sew (1) ABCE Border strip to top and bottom of quilt top.

9. H BORDER - Sew (1) H 1-1/2” x (56-1/2”) border strip to each side of quilt. Then sew (1) H 1-1/2” x (50-1/2”) border strip to the top and the bottom of quilt.

8. B BORDER - Sew (1) B 4-1/2” x (58-1/2”) border strip to each side of quilt. Then sew (1) B 4-1/2” x 58-1/2” border strip to the top and bottom of quilt top.
