Accessing the Iomega StorCenter NAS Device

●On the Web browser, enter the URL of the Iomega StorCenter network storage device. The StorCenter network storage device home page is displayed.

●Click the Manage your Iomega StorCenter icon to connect to the StorCenter network storage device.

●If security is not enabled, enable security and create administrator user on the NAS Device

Accessing application

●Open the SecureMind Surveillance Manager web client by clicking on the Icon


Configuring application

●Select a Volume and specify share to be created. The recorded videos will be stored in the share.

●Select the number of days to store the recordings. After the selected number of days, the recorded videos will be deleted automatically.


Settings – Add Camera

●Cameras can be added using●Search Camera

●Manually adding the camera



●Search Camera discovers IP cameras on the network using uPNP and ONVIF discovery



●Click on Add and specify ●Camera name

●Username

●Password



●Manually adding camera


Settings – Delete Camera

●After Adding Camera it is displayed in the left panel

●Click on to delete the camera from application

●Recordings cannot be searched after camera is deleted


Settings – Video Settings

●To modify the video settings●Go to Settings > Add Camera.

●In the Cameras list, click > Video Settings.

●Stream 1 or Stream 2 can be chosen for recording. By default Stream 1 is used for Recording

●Stream 2 is used for remote access live view, so should be configured for a low bitrate

●Recommended GOV Length is equal to the selected frame rate

Live View – PTZ Controls

PTZ Operations Description

Indicates that the camera is a PTZ camera.

Saves the current position as home position

Use (click or hold) the arrow controls to pan or tilt the camera movements towards left, right, up, or down.

Use the Home button to reset the camera to the home position.

Use the zoom control to perform zoom operations.

Use the focus control to adjust the focus of the camera. Select the Auto option to adjust the focus automatically.Use the iris option to control the light coming through the lens. Select the Auto option to adjust the iris automatically.Use the speed option to control the speed of the PTZ operation. Use the presets option to add, edit, and delete presets


Modes of Recording

●SecureMind application supports below recordings

●Activity: Recordings triggered due to activity in the field of view

of the camera

●Manual: Recordings activated by user

●Alarm: Recordings due to events such as unexpected activity

●Default mode of recording is Activity recording


Playback Options

●To Search and play recordings use the Playback

●Playback Options

●List View · User can choose type of recording (All, activity, manual, recording)· User can choose multiple cameras· User can specify the date and time range· Recorded videos can be saved on the client computer

●Time Line View· User can choose any one camera· Recordings are displayed on a time line· Alarm recordings are shown in RED· User can traverse through the time line and also zoom in/out for

quickly browsing through the video

Settings - Alert

●Types of Alerts

●Activity Alerts: User can specify an Alert time window in which no activity is expected. If any activity within this window is recorded as alarm and e-mail alert is sent

●Video Loss: If there is communication failure with the camera, a Video Loss event is reported

●View Tamper: If the camera view is too dark or too bright, a View Tamper event is reported


Settings – Activity Alert

●Activity alert can be configured from Settings->Alert ->Manage Activity Alerts



●Multiple Activity Alerts can be defined●For e.g. Alert Window 1 can be defined from 19:30 to 23:59

and Alert Window 2 can be defined from 00:00 to 8:00 to indicate alarm for activity during Night time.

●Alerts can be specified for selected days of week. ●For e.g. During weekend the alert can be defined for 00 to

23:59 hours (complete day).

●A Start and End date for the alert can be defined

●E-mail alert can be configured to be sent for only the first activity event or for all activity events in a window



●Alarm snapshot due to activity alert can be seen at the top right part of the application

●Clicking on snapshot will take the user to time line view for playback of the alarm video


Settings – Region of Interest (ROI) for activity detection

●ROI for activity detection can be configured from Setting->Add Camera-> Settings -> Activity Detection Settings


Settings – Video Loss, View Tamper and Alarm Sound

●User can configure number of seconds to wait before reporting video loss

●View tamper e-mail alerts can be enabled/disabled

●Alarm sound can be enabled/disabled


Settings – Email Configuration


Settings –Remote View

●For a client to connect remotely view video over the Internet from the storage device, the Internet Gateway Device (IGD) or the router must be configured for forwarding the specified ports to the Internet

●To enable the live video remotely, perform the following:

●On the SecureMind Surveillance Manager screen, go to Settings > Remote View Setting.

●Select Enable Remote View

●To change the Language of the Web-client, change the Language Preference in the web browser

●To change the Language of events, audit log and email content select the Language under Setting Tab


Settings – Storage

●This displays the volume and share used for recording and the disk usage.

●The number of days to store the recordings can be modified here


Status

●Camera Status ●It displays information such as Camera Name, IP Address, and

Camera Status. It provides the camera stream information such as codec used for the stream, resolution of the video from that stream, stream frame rate, and transmission bit rate.

●Event Log ●Displays information of events such as video loss, network

error, and storage error. It also displays the source where the event has occurred, the time when the event occurred, and the description of the event.

●Audit Log●It displays audit information about the actions performed by

the user

●On the SecureMind Surveillance Manager page, go to Status > Camera Status

●On the SecureMind Surveillance Manager page, go to Status > Events

●Click Print to print the event history.

●To view the audit log, perform the following:

●Click Export to export the audit log


SecureMind Surveillance Manager Licensing

●On installation license for 1 camera is enabled by default

●License for additional cameras can be purchased from

Iomega

●Licenses key can be purchased for 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 48

cameras

●License key has to be activated in order to add the cameras

to application

●License activation can be done through the SecureMind

application or through E-mail

●Click >> Upgrade from the list and click on continue. The License Page would be displayed.

● Enter the License Key and Click Submit

●Needs Internet Connection to obtain Activation Code


License Activation through E-mail

●Send e-mail to [email protected] with the below details●E-mail Address: This will be registered for further

communication regarding license details

●MAC Address of NAS Device: The Activation Key will be for this MAC Address

●License Key: The purchased License key for additional cameras

●The activation code will be sent by E-mail.

●Activation code can be entered in the application to

activate the product for additional cameras
