Between swelling populations, growing pressure on natural resources and the strain on aging infrastructure, cities face no shortage of challenges today. But in these challenges lie incredible opportunities — opportunities to go beyond the problems to make communities more livable, workable and sustainable.

Indian Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has accelerated his pet project of 100 Smart Cities by announcing the qualifying cities for this programme and Smart Cities Summit will be a catalyst for your smart cities ambitions in this opportunity of unprecedented size.

Part inspirational, part educational, you’ll walk away with ideas and knowledge that you can put to use right away in your own community. Smart Cities Summit organised br Smart Cities Council India will showcase technologies applicable for smart cities, steps to be taken by ULBs for smart cities programme, successful case studies, preliminary workshop in project capacity building, ‘innovation’ showcase on smart cities apps and so on. In short, this will prepare you in smartening your city.

Smart Cities Summit will bring together all government and private captains to deliberate on the opportunities, challenges and solutions in developing smarter technologies for building sustainable, livable and efficient cities in India.

It was a great learning experience attending the 2ND SM@RT CITIES SUMMIT in New Delhi. The selection of topics for

deliberations, the knowledge and expertise of the conducting a panel and the chance to interact with the best in the field as

very well coordinated by the organisers. The highlight was the showcasing of the innovative start-ups. A perfect opportunity

to learn, adapt and adopt in making their towns and cities into smarter places. Great show Mr Pratap Padode and his team.

Sandhya Godey, Principal Consultant, Phoenix IT Solutions Ltd.

SM@RT CITIES SUMMIT held on 17th & 18th February at IHC was an excellent event for interchange of ideas in the

emerging landscape of Smart Cities in India. It provided the right forum for us to interact with key stakeholders in the initiative

of developing Smart Cities in India.

Shuktij Singh Rao, Chief of Infrastructure The Tata Power Company Limited, Strategic Engineering Division

This event was quite insightful and one of its kind in defining the opportunities and challenges in Smart cities, especially

from Indian context.

Vikram Singh, Mains Associate Manager, Telecom Services Business Sterlite Technologies Limited

The SM@RT Cities Summit was a well-thought event to cover the various aspects of Smart Cities opportunity developing

in India. The sessions covered all the critical dimensions ranging from Funding, Viability, Critical Success Factors to the

role of capabilities like ICT and Renewable Energy. Most of the panel members were well informed on the topic and were

connected with the Indian realities and offered contextualized inputs instead of offering boilerplate opinions.

Rahul Malaviya, Sales Head, Engineering & Constructions, Wipro

Congratulations on the successful conduct of 2nd Edition of SM@RT CITIES SUMMIT held on 17th & 18th February at

India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The event was conducted in the most professional manner. It gave tremendous insight

towards the Smart City scenario in India. The summit was very engaging in terms of relevant subjects discussed and was

very helpful for any organization who are making forays into the sphere of Smart Cities in India. Kudos to the organizers.

Satya Nair, Head Alliances, TATA Power SED

Firstly I’d like to thank you for inviting me for the summit. It was my second participation and indeed another great experience.

What I really liked about this summit was the discussion on the hottest topic of these days - smart cities. This summit has

helped me to think in a new direction about the whole idea. I would like to attend more of such summit.

Sunil k Srivastava

I must admit that the Second SMARTCITY SUMMIT was a great knowledge sharing experience  with delegates coming from

across the globe. Sustainable urban design of cities that do not wither away with time is the need of the hour.

The SUMMIT has set the ball rolling. It has made us citizen create a VISION for Indian SMART CITIES.

KN Rai, Former Chief Executive (CW &E), Min of Defence, DRDO Presently Advisor Mega Projects

It was a pleasure to be part of Smart Cities Summit 2014 and felt that the event had very high quality delegates. It was delightful to meet up with several stakeholders at one platform. Once again heartiest congratulations in organizing such a collaborative high quality event for the industry.

Sachin Jain, Associate Director, KPMG

It was a very engaging 2 days of discussion and debate on a topic that has some way to go in India going by the issues raised at the conference. It illustrated how many interconnected strands of action contribute to Smart Cities. We were glad to be part of the exchange of ideas.

We are really very glad to attend the seminar which was very well organized by you. There were some very good speakers, to listen them was a great source of knowledge and lesson for us. We have participated the seminar just to understand the concept of the SMART CITIES and up to a great extent our aims fulfilled. It was really a nice experience and we are thank full to you for organizing such a good seminar on a current and burning topic. Hope to see you again on a similar event.

Sunil Shrivastava, U.P. Housing Development Board

The Smart Cities Summit 2014 was very well thought of and planned with discussions revolving around very specific topics which are integral to the development of a Smart City. The panelists were prominent and knowledgeable people from their respective fields and gave valuable insights into where India currently stands in this Landscape and what need to be done going forward.

Irwin Barneto, Sr. Engineer (Sales, Marketing & Business Development), ABB India Ltd

I found the Summit highly interesting as it covered a host of topics and brought together people of different backgrounds. Being a nascent concept especially in India the summit did try to bring out the various aspects that make a Smart City right from the digital infrastructure and data mapping to the physical infrastructure and waste management techniques employed.

R. Narayan, Head (Business Development), GMR Airports

I would like to say that the Smart Cities Summit 2014 held on 22-23 August in Mumbai was found to very effective and remarkable. The brainstorming sessions made all of us feel that it’s the need of the time to develop cities in a new way which is not at all impossible. Smart cities summit was really a great informative experience with high networking opportunities. The Summit has been an eye opener and successful in bringing together like-minded professionals seeking to develop cities in a new way.

Narendra Singh, Founder & Chairman, Centre for Urban Research, Rajasthan

A quality indicator of a successful conference is the number of times, the participant refers to the conference following the conclusion of the conference - in the 4 days, I have already done this a half dozen times already! It was also excellent to see the depth and breadth in various presenting stakeholder groups as well as the number of people who attended this event… lots of energy at this conference!

R. John Ringness, Chief Facilities Offi cer, Kohinoor Group

“First & foremost I would like to congratulate ASAPP Media for organising the Smart cities summit in Mumbai. It was indeed a world class event and took me by surprise. I am sure this event has set the tone for Smart cities development in India and brought all elements of planner, technologist, architects, Government offi cial, components suppliers under one roof to Think BIG. It was a wonderful platform to exchange the ideas and networking. I thoroughly enjoyed the summit and enriched my learning.”

Ved Dimri, General Manager, 3M India Ltd

“I found the Smart Cities seminar knowledge driven and an excellent platform to understand future dynamics of emerging urbanization in India. It was worth the time spent.”

Ravi Singh, CEO, Essar Steel

“With lot of talk on this topic, the SM@RT CITIES Summit 2014 was timely, lively, and informative. It spurred intelligent debates and enabled better planning for various stakeholders. The summit explored the multi-dimensional aspects of smart city from self-suffi ciency, integrated planning among various stakeholders, living quality, and heavily leveraging technology. Great Event!”

Natarajan Malupillai, CEO, Egovernments Foundation
