1-3. Real function data

(1) Select the exact capacity according to outdoor unit model and combination rate using outdoor unit capacity table. According to given indoor and outdoor temperature, find outdoor unit capacity and power input using the table. Each indoor unit capacity (power input) is calculated as follow.IUC=OUC x INX/TNX IUC: Each indoor unit capacity (power input)OUC: Outdoor unit capacity (power input) INX: Each indoor unit capacity indexTNX: Total capacity index

(2) If the capacity is smaller than the load, change unit to a larger capacity indoor unit and repeat the selection process.

(3) Main parts1) Digital scroll compressor

The variable capacity compressor shall control the unit capacity from 10% to 100%, utilizing 19 separate capacity steps.

2) AccumulatorThis shall prevent the return of liquid refrigerant to the compressor.

3) Liquid receiverThis shall reduce the unit noise level, and also shall allow control of the flow of high pressure liquid refrigerant to the individual indoor units.

4) Solenoid valve (PWM)This valve shall be installed at the top of the digital scroll compressor and shall be used to provide capacity control of the compressor. When the valve is open the compressor is in its unloaded state.

5) Solenoid valve (HGBV)Should the suction pressure in the unit fall this valve shall open. The valve shall also be used to equalize system pressures upon shut down and assist the compressor in starting.

6) Solenoid valve (LBV)Should the compressor temperature rise this valve shall open to cool the compressor and maintain reliable operation.

7) Solenoid valve (VBV)This valve shall also assist in equalizing the system pressure upon shut down, reducing the starting load on thecompressor.

8) High pressure switch (HPS)Shall be used to stop the system operation in the event of a high pressure situation occurring.

9) Low pressure switch (LPS) Shall be used to prevent system operation should the system pressure fall below a preset limit (20 Psig)

10) Discharge temperature sensor (DTS)Shall be used to measure the temperature of the discharge gas from the digital scroll compressor.

11) Condenser Mid point temperature sensor (CMS)Shall be used to measure condenser coil temperature to provide control of the condenser fan motor and head pressure.

12) Condenser outlet sensor (COS)Shall be used to measure the temperature of the liquid refrigerant leaving the condenser coil.

13) Outdoor air temperature sensor (OATS)Shall be used to measure the outdoor air temperature.

14) Fixed capacity scroll compressorShall be used whenever the system load exceeds 50% in a two compressor unit.

15) Fixed discharge temperature sensor (FDTS)Shall be used to measure the temperature of the discharge gas leaving the fixed capacity scroll compressor.

16) Low pressure sensor (LPSO)By measuring the low pressure, any abnormal system status is determined and the low-pressure protection control is performed.

13) 4 Way valve (4-W/V)This shall control the direction of the refrigerant flow, allowing operation in both cooling and heat pump mode.

14) Electronic expansion valve (EEV)This shall control the flow of refrigerant in the heat pump mode. The valve shall sense the suction line temperature and pressure and adjust accordingly for optimum performance.

15) Check valve (C/V)This valve shall be used to allow the bypass of refrigerant around the EEV when the unit is in the cooling mode.

16) Suction lint temperature sensor (SUCS)This shall measure the suction line temperature and be used to control the Electronic Expansion Valve.

17) Oil temperature sensor (OILS)This sensor shall measure the oil temperature to prevent oil dilution by liquid refrigerant flooding back to the compressor.

18) Fixed discharge temperature sensor (FDTS)Shall be used to measure the temperature of the discharge gas leaving the fixed capacity scroll compressor.

During heating operation, when snow accumulates upon thermo exchanger or the outdoor temperatures

are blow 23OF ~ 45OF, frost may form and the heating performance may be down. To remove the frost,

air conditioner performs periodic (forty minutes to seventy minutes) frost removing operation, the heating

operation is turned off and fan of indoor unit also stops during the frost removing operation, the heating

operation is turned off and fan of indoor unit also stops during the frost removing state (five to ten minutes)

(the heating capacity table of inner and outdoor units do not reflect the performance reduction part caused
